Fluid pressure expansion is a powerful tool for capturing the penetrating pressure of an opening contact connection (for example bolted flanges) under the working loads.

Fluid pressure extension is a very intuitive tool that dynamically updates contact behavior and makes it more realistic. All flange connections are exposed to working pressure which, by penetrating the flange, can increase the forces acting on the bolted connections or change the contact status under the influence of additional forces from the working pressure that penetrates the connection.
In extreme situations, the penetrating contact pressure can open the contact and cause leaks. The proposed solution analyses the status of the contact during the calculation and if the contact starts to open, the penetrating pressure is applied. This process is repeated until the algorithm finds balance and the contact status remains unchanged.
Accurate representation of the contact is very important when designing all flange connections where their tightness plays a key role (Expander flanges, pipelines, pressure vessels etc.).
Ansys Workbench in its latest version does not have the functionality described above without the Fluid pressure extension.

possibility to apply penetrating pressure as a function of contact status;

better representation of contact forces at leakage points;

advanced analyses can be performed by less experienced engineers;

knowledge of APDL is not required;

simple user interface;

TIME SAVINGS

Fluid penetration extension is an easy to use tool available directly from Workbench tree. It’s easy to deal with and verified on many industrial cases. The main reason for purchasing this extension should be time saving and simplicity of use. With this extension, the working pressure on the contact has been streamlined and implemented directly into Ansys Workbench.

Ship components is an advanced extension suited for shipbuilding needs that allows you to automatically search and group main ship components such as decks, frames etc. based on the FEM model.

The Ship Components extension was created for the shipbuilding industry to automatically search and create the main ship components. The algorithm works on the basis of a numerical model rather than a geometric one and can create components such as deck, frames etc. No matter how they are placed in the ship’s space. This functionality allows you to quickly and simply create elemental components even if there is no CAD geometric model associated with the model.

Important: In the extension two approaches to component search have been implemented. The free version allows you to create components according to fixed frame or deck distance. The paid version allows you to create components regardless of the distance between them (distance can be constant or variable). The algorithm analyzes the location of all the components and groups them in an appropriate way to finally place them in the Ansys Workbech tree with appropriate prefixes.

ADVANTAGES AND SAVINGS

automatically recognizes ship’s elements arranged in three main directions;

works on a numerical model;

creates major component groups and places them in Ansys Workbench tree for later use;

easy to adapt to customer requirements;

intuitive user interface;

no need to know APDL;

full integration with Ansys Workbench environment;

TIME SAVINGS

Automatic recognition and generation of the ship’s main components significantly accelerates and streamlines the process of building the calculation model. Thanks to this solution we can be sure that the process of component grouping will run quickly and efficiently without having to go through the advanced APDL code.

Table Array is an extension that allows the implementation of 3-dimensional load tables directly in the Ansys Workbench environment.

Table Array is an advanced extension to facilitate the use and visualization of loads using three dimensional tables directly in Ansys Workbench environment. Thanks to the extension, it is possible to use table functionality without knowledge of APDL and Ansys Classic.
The extension has a user-friendly interface that allows you to define three parametric loads and visualize them using a point cloud directly on the FEM model. Load tables can be built using parameters such as: X, Y, Z, Time, Frequency, Temperature, Velocity, Pressure in combination with any coordinate system.

Table Array is equipped with the ability to load ready-made tables in the form of a txt file so that they can be used and visualized in Ansys Workbench.
One of the biggest advantages of this tool is the ability to visualize a table directly in Ansys Workbench and change it immediately when needed.

ADVANTAGES AND SAVINGS

Creating a tables/arrays directly in the Ansys Workbench;

Visualization of the input data directly in Ansys Workbench;

Eliminating the possibility of making mistakes;

Ability to load existing APDL arrays;

TIME SAVINGS

Table Array extension is a ready-to-use standalone tool that allows us to significantly accelerate the implementation of advanced loads using 3D tables. We have eliminated the need for APDL as well as streamlined and accelerated the process of validation and visualization of tables. The risk of error has been practically eliminated.

Ekill/Elive is quick and easy to use package for using ekill and elive commands directly in the ANSYS Mechanical. The package is equipped with a user-friendly interface that allows for easy deactivation of elements in any time step.

The Ekill/Elive tool provides easy access to an advanced feature that allows you to deactivate elements or entire components in the selected analysis time step. To meet the needs of users we have also implemented the possibility of automatic deactivation of contact elements that are assigned to the body so that they do not cause convergence problems.

Using Ekill/Elive command combination user has the ability to re-activate elements or components in subsequent time steps.

One of the main advantages of the tool is a function that checks your license version so that information about incompatibility of the command with the license version is given at the beginning of the analysis and does not cause interruption of the analysis due to an incorrectly selected license version*.

* Ekill command works only in Ansys Enterprise and Premium.

ADVANTAGES AND SAVINGS

improving convergence by automatically deactivating body contacts;

possibility of sequential deactivation and activation of elements (unlimited number of times per analysis);

elimination of errors;

possibility to check the license compatibility before launching the analysis;

easy-to-use;

TIME SAVINGS

The tool eliminates the need to know APDL as well as saves time needed to prepare the script.Time saving depends on the user’s level of advancement and knowledge of Ansys. The given saving of time for introducing Ekill functionality has been carried out on a moderately advanced user with basic APDL skills.
